I understand photography as an intentional and partial reading of a reality that manifests itself to us in multiple ways in its continuous happening. As if it were a fixed shot cinematographic sequence, from the same location, I look for the precise moment of confluence and expressive juxtaposition, between the different anonymous characters that pass through the city and the elements of the urban space that frame and house them. A certain formal disposition of the components of the scene together with the premeditated absence of recognizable space/time referents, try to underline the poetic features of a concrete phenomenal reality, under the subjective prism of whoever observes it.
Biography
Born in Jerez, he currently resides in Seville.
Graduated in Educational Sciences, he has been dedicated to author photography for about fifteen years. Self-taught, he combines photographic activity with some literary collaborations.
He has been honored with more than fifty national and international awards (Helie Memorial, Phoco Valdepeñas, Cerdá y Rico, Asisa, Diputación de Guadalajara, Alcala de Henares, Gil Marraco, Abeja de Oro, Quart de Poblet…), exhibiting and screening his work in different festivals, fairs and art galleries (Espacio Foto, Madrid Foto, Festimatge Calella, Foconorte, Casa Arte, Entrefotos, Córdoba Biennial, Círculo de Bellas Artes…).
His photographs have been acquired by various institutions, museums and private collections. He has been part of the jury in various competitions, given lectures and their jobs are edited in books, catalogs and specialized magazines.
